About Us
The Ottawa Fire Department is a combination (career & volunteer) fire and emergency medical service serving our residents since 1867.
The city is protected by our Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, 19 operations personnel and up to 8 volunteers.
The fire department is an all-hazards response agency protecting the lives and property of all Ottawa residents, visitors and college students from the effects of fire, medical emergencies, automobile and industrial accidents, natural and man-made disasters.
Our members are trained in Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials response, Wildland Firefighting, Technical Rescue, Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, and Fire Investigations.
Other services that are provided by our members are Fire Prevention, Community Outreach and Fire Inspections.
